Researchers concluded that daily intake of sugar should not exceed 10% of the total daily intake of calories. If, in grams, it turns out, men per day should eat no more than 60 g, and women no more than 50 grams of pure sugar (meaning mature middle-aged people, physical activity). That is, should take into account not only the sugar that we pour in hot drinks, but also all the sugar found in other products. Therefore, nutritionists do not recommend drinking sweet tea with sweets or cake. And sodas altogether should be banned, because they contain about 40 grams of sugar. Obviously, the rate of sugar consumption should be reduced for the elderly and children.
Opinions about what can replace sugar, divided. Someone called for the use of sugar substitutes. However, recent studies have shown that sweeteners may also cause weight gain, because they are high in calories.
Someone offers only get sugar from natural sources: Fructose is found in fruits and honey, maltose in germinated grains, glucose in honey, fruits and vegetables. However, eating these products, it is impossible to control the amount of sugar produced at the same time, which is not always acceptable.
Reasonable solution seems to respect the principles of the golden mean: eat in moderation, no frills, not depriving yourself of the pleasure of sweet, but not in excess of overeating.
