The term "latent homosexuality" was first used by Sigmund Freud in his work "The general theory of neurosis." Freud argued that it is latent homosexuality, especially in cases where a person is forced to suppress their sexual desire, often leads to neurosis. Freud also asserted that all people tend to drive it, because they supposedly born bisexual.
Freud's ideas still cause quite contradictory attitude. Support them, mostly people who are opposed to discrimination against homosexuals. They argue that homosexuality is not a disease, not a deviation from the norm, and the normal and natural phenomenon. Apparently, according to the rule "attack - the best kind of protection," followers of Freud's ideas have created in the late twentieth century, the theory that it is the people, not to hide openly homophobic attitudes are largely inherent latent homosexuality. This is more than doubtful theory is based on studies that have been conducted at the University of Georgia. Many scientists evaluating these studies, critically spoke about the experiments and the conclusions that have been made on the results.
